Robotic Pill

[

IDC Models developed a prototype of a 'Robotic Pill' designed to deliver medication to a targeted area of the intestines. The pill is swallowed and travels naturally through the patient's body to the small intestine. When it reaches the target location, the medical team instruct it to inject medication directly into the target site. To make the prototype IDC Models used their Viper SLA machine, a 3D printer that constructs models by selectively hardening liquid resin. The total size of the pill was only 30mm by 11mm, so they needed the most precise equipment to produce these parts.
