IDC Models is run by Vincent O’Horo, a time-served model and pattern maker. Working along side Vincent at IDC Models is a highly skilled team with a wide range of expertise. Combining their skills in tool, pattern, and model making, with new rapid prototyping technologies, our technicians are always ready to help out. The IDC Models team is responsible for ensuring that prototypes, models, mock ups and test rigs get made to the highest standards and are delivered on time and to budget. If you have any queries or questions, any members of the team will be happy to assist.
Vincent ‘Vince’ O’Horo
A time-served model and pattern maker, Vincent runs IDC Models, the rapid prototyping, model making and production department of IDC. With a team of model makers and a fully equipped workshop (including SLA, vacuum casting, 3D CNC machining), he is responsible for ensuring that clients get what they need including services in prototypes, models, mock ups and test rigs get made to the highest standards and are delivered on time and to budget. “Clients approach us with a problem and it is our job to deliver the solution,” explains Vince, “We guide them through the options to make sure they get what they need when they need it.”
Peter ‘Pete’ Pendergast
In his 20’s, Pete built a complete car starting with a space frame chassis and the body made from fibreglass. Since then, Pete has been building models of every shape and size. Pete joined the team at IDC Models in 1988 and specialises in Rapid Tooling and Injection Moulding. Pete feels passionate about model and pattern making and admits that a lot of IDC’s success in the past can be attributed to the ‘can do’ attitude of the team, “One visitor once commented that we can make the impossible, I think that sums up the attitude here.”
Mark Yoxall
Mark has a passion for model making and specialises in CNC Machining. “Seeing this amazing technology transform the intangible CAD data into a tangible product is still something that I enjoy watching,” Mark admits, “CNC Machining is just something that I have always wanted to do.” Mark is a qualified pattern maker who believes in building mutually beneficial relationships with clients. “Our main priority is fulfilling the clients needs, that’s a simple thing to do when your entire team is always striving for it.”
Nick Rietdyk
Nick is the newest recruit to the IDC Models team having joined in January 2010. Nick specialises in traditional model making lending to the team an important and often vital speciality. Nick worked at a small engineering and tool making firm before starting his position at IDC Models and admits that he has always had a passion for model making, “It’s what I enjoy doing,” he explains. Nick’s goal at IDC Models is to make the production process as efficient as possible. “With so much technology available the key is to choose the right tools and use then in the right way.”
